You’re invited to Our Abortion Stories, a live show featuring seven stories of triumph. Each story is about much more than abortion. Even though I’ve been an activist all my life, these stories surprised and moved me.
Nilsa was homeless when she had an abortion. Her story is about reconciling her Catholicism with that decision, but also about what it takes to live on the street and what it takes to ultimately make a home.
Derick’s wife almost died when she was denied an abortion after her water broke at 16 weeks. His story is about the dangers of our current law.
Nicole was 11 when she was sexually abused and had an abortion. Forty years later she wrote about her experience in the New York Times and was flooded with love and support. Her story is tragic but is also about the importance of sharing our stories and the possibility of hope.
